Meet Gina . . .
Wow!
So much has changes since I wrote this...
I'll try to update as soon as I can.
At
least the pic is decently current! ;)
Hi! I'm Gina. I'm 37 years old, and I'm a stay-at-home mommy. The
guy in the pic with me is my honey, of course! *giggle*
I design web
pages to help bring in extra income for my family. My professional
site is BeautyCreations.Net Web Design. I was recently attending
college to get a degree for what I do, my major is/was Digital Graphics
Technology (DGT). There are several reasons why I no longer attend
school and I hope to eventually share them with you on this site.
Since we homeschool our daughter, we have decided that it is best
for me not to continue with school. It was helpful but most of what
I learned has been self-taught anyway, it seems only logical for
me to continue learning what I do from home. (I guess that truly
makes me a home school mom! LOL)
Before I switched
to DGT, I was a Nutrition major so I do have a strong background
in Nutrition, but I'm not a professional. I am in the process of
taking Biblical Counseling classes. My ultimate desire is to disciple/counsel
Christian women from a biblical perspective.
As of August 2005,
Andy and I have been married for 16 years! He is my college sweetheart!
:) He feels his calling is to be in the ministry full time. We didn't
know exactly where or what for a long time, but we now feel that
God has definitely reveald his plan! That plan has been unfolding
before our very eyes. When everything is in place I will share it
all here. For now, I would just like to ask you to keep it in prayer
for us!
Our daughter, Stephanie,
is now 9 years old, and as I briefly mentioned, she is homeschooled.
We used to homeschool traditionally with Abeka, but we recently
switched to a unique, christ-centered unit study approach. We LOVE
it! It's called Heart of
Wisdom. If you haven't checked this method out before, you really
should. It has brought a breath of fresh air into our home schooling
and it is such a blast to study this way! It is a combination of
the following teaching methods: Bible first, a return to Biblical
Hebraic education, living books (Charlotte Mason's Philosophy),
4 step lesson, integrated unit study, lifestyle of learning, delight-directed
learning, writing to learn and notebook or portfolio method.
Stephanie is an only
child and has been such a joy to raise! She accepted the Lord when
she was 3 and so far she still seems sold out for Him! When we were
moving this summer (June 2002) she was listening to our Pastor on
tape. He gave the gospel presentation at the end prayed with the
listeners. Stephanie asked if she could pray the prayer too! It's
like she finally realized what asking the Lord into your life really
ment! PTL! If you would like to get to know my family and I a little
bit more, you can do so by visiting our blog.
I have been a Christian
for about 13 years but only really started digging into God's Word
for the past six years. My spiritual birthday is on April Fools
day. I'm not kidding! LOL! I love Jesus with all my heart and praise
Him for saving me! He is sooooo good, and everything He does is
good, and I dedicate my life to Him! He can do the same for you
too. If you would like to know more about what this means PLEASE
contact me (This page is not yet available.
You can contact me by using the email addy on the main
page of our site.) and we can get together to chat about it.
Believe me when I say
that being a Christian is not what you think...it's something so
much more! :) The Lord has changed my life so much that I don't
even know where to begin sharing with you. I would have to say that
the main thing that I have had to deal with in my life is my weight.
With Jesus Christ in my life, I have learned how to overcome my
obsession with my weight and focus on being healthy. If you would
like to know more about this part of my life, please visit my weight
loss journal called Meditation of My Heart.
(This is not yet available.)
In His love.....
Gina
